The Dordogne Valley of the Castles

The Dordogne and the Périgord Noir are known to be home to a large number of exceptional Châteaux. During your stay at Clos d´Allas, we advise you that too little to follow the Valley of the Castles of the Dordogne. Start your expedition with the castle of Castelnaud, built on a rocky outcrop, this place offers a superb view of the Dordogne Valley. Continue your expedition with a visit to the Château de Beynac, a superb 12th century fortified castle. Continue exploring the Dordogne Valley with the Château des Milandes, the famous castle of Joséphine Baker which will charm you with the beauty of its gardens. Your route on the Route des Châteaux will end with the Château de Puymartin, which is located very close to our establishment. This fairy-tale castle emerges from the wooded landscape with its two iconic tall towers.

The creeks of Cassis and La Ciotat

45 minutes from L'Oustalet des Marres, do not miss to discover the Mediterranean calanques, those of Cassis and La Ciotat in particular. Two cities that are worth visiting and which are home to the wonders of nature, to visit on foot, or aboard a boat. The creeks are a sight in their own right, the coves nestling there are exceptional havens of peace. Lovers of hiking or novice walkers, the creeks will be a paradise for you.

Marseilles

20 minutes from your guest house with pool, Marseille, capital of Bouches-du-Rhone and city with a thousand discoveries. Shaped by a multitude of cultures, the Phocean city offers a plethora of architectural and cultural curiosities. The old port, Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, the docks, the Mucem are not to be missed!

Aix en Provence

Spa town, Aix-en-Provence is a city with a particularly pleasant atmosphere. Student city as much as historic city, Aix-en-Provence is animated day and night. Renowned for its shops and restaurants, Aix is also rich in ancient heritage perfectly preserved. 20 minutes from the Oustalet des Marres.

The Provencal villages

Difficult to visit Provence without making an excursion in the Provencal villages. We can quote the most famous of them, Lourmarin, L'Isle-sur-Sorgue or Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Aigues Mortes, la Camargue,  which are not loved by tourists by chance. The Gouffre de Proumeyssac

Also called the Crystal Cathedral, the Gouffre de Proumeyssac is the largest developed cavity in the Périgord Noir. Through a tunnel, you will access a huge underground vault with walls adorned with multiple crystallizations. You can descend to the heart of the abyss by a gondola, for a more original visit.

Les Eyzies

Les Eyzies is an emblematic village in the Vézère Valley and a paradise for prehistoric enthusiasts. During your visit, do not miss these emblematic places steeped in history such as the Pataud shelter, the Cro-Magnon shelter, the Fish shelter, the Font-de-Gaume, the Combarelles cave, the Bernifal cave. , the shelter of Cap Blanc, the deposits of Laugerie-Haute or even Roque Saint-Christophe.

Hikes and walks

From the Clos d'Allas, beautiful hikes or walks can be on the program of your days. One of the most famous trails is the “Boucle de la Combe du Loup”. This 13-kilometer course is a must in the region and begins in the town of Saint-André-d'Allas.

The Cabanes du Breuil

Close to our establishment, discover the Cabanes du Breuil . This exceptional place is a real invitation to reconnect with nature and traditions. It was in 1949 that this family story began. Discover this preserved little corner with the stone huts, the making of bread baked in a wood-fired oven and the farm.
